For this week's assignment, I shot tons of different angles of a of a loco-looking wooden bunny carving from Bali. He was hanging out in our backyard on a rare sunny day in Bellingham. I found that the ones I liked the best where the photos that brought the bunny to life, so it speak. The most attractive ones where the photos that lured you in, made you wonder what that crazy bunny was looking at. I also liked the photos that where just grass and bunny, without any distracting background. I found that different perspectives really changed the message of the photo and made it either interesting or blah. I used both my point and shoot and SLR, and much to my dismay, the point and shoot came out better.
Bunny is just playing in the green grass on a sunny day. I like this pic because of the colors and I feel like the angle and framing gives the figure a life-like vibe.
I like this photo, but not as much as the previous one. I found that close up, straight on was a good way to show the detail of the carving.
I took this photo from behind the craving, trying to make bunny look like he was staring off into the yard. It sort of worked. On this one, I really learned about the importance of remembering to include the shadow as part of the composition.
I'm having a hard time focusing on the bunny, I want sunshine and green grass!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBut I do like the first one the best, it makes me think of hanging in the backyard and just happening to catch a wild bunny on it's way into the yard, so excited to see it that you don't think about how to frame it in the shot.
I like the first one because you put the main object to one side instead of centering the carving. This made the picture more "real" to me. I also like the second one because the other two do not allow me to see exactly what the bunny looks like. However, the third picture is my favorite. I enjoy the different shades of green, the off set bunny and he's shadow allows me to picture a sun in the distance. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI actually like the last picture because of the shadow, and tree's in the background, but yet you still focus on the bunny as the object. I really like all of them and you chose great views to shoot of it.
ReplyDeleteWhat on earth is this! I love it, but it's a little scary (Like lawn gnomes)! Cool picture!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I actually liked the close up picture as it showed more detail of the object. The lighting of your pictures is very vibrant! Nice job Kristin.
ReplyDeleteI really like your first picture. Among the best picture I saw of any. Just really like how the detailed the bunny is, and how simple the background is. The green grass makes it really pop too.
ReplyDeleteVery nice.

I really like the close up of the carving, especially the very slight upward angle of the shot. My favorite is the last one. The contrast of the greens with the splash of brown makes the detail on the bunny pop. I'm also a big fan of shadow play in pictures. Good job!

The last one, "bunny enters the woods with trepidation" is my fave. The shadow is a great diagonal to add movement to your little guy.
