Here are a couple of my photos, edited in Photoshop. I found a few things- one is that my eye likes black and white and I always think things look better that way. Also, in terms of color, I liked giving photos an old 80's tint to them- probably because some of my favorite family photos are in that tone. I always found that I really don't like things over-saturated or over-exposed. It was also helpful to use the masking layers in order to put effects on the original photo.
This is the original photo.
This is the final- I tweaked a lot of things in it. Mainly levels, brightness and contrast, saturation and a cool-toned filter.
I took this photo yesterday- sledding in the BC back country.
This is the edited version. I changed it to black and white, adjusted the levels and contrast and put a warm-toned filter on it.
I like in the first photo how it softened all of the darker images, such as the tree. I like the second one a lot. It made it look like a newspaper clipping, great job on both of these.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on both of these. I especially like the composition of the first picture. Where was that taken?
ReplyDeleteI like what you did with the first photo, the colors are much deeper and bring a more relaxing feel to the picture. I think that you could have cropped the palm tree out of the very corner of it, but otherwise it looks very nice.
ReplyDeleteThe second picture has a very nice backdrop, lots of detail and certainly very interesting. I feel like you could have done more to bring the background out while brightening the photo up. The red feels does make me feel like I am looking through ski goggles, which is a fun feeling of remembering skiing.

Excellent work! when compared it is amazing how both sets of photos contrast to their sister photo! I think so far my most favorite type of photo to tweak on photoshop is ocean /water photos it is just amazing the different and very vibrant colors that will make the photo explode with brilliant and beautiful colors.
ReplyDeleteNice job Kristin. I like the snowmobile picture....wow you still have a lot of snow there. Your sled looks alot like mine! I love how the tone of the picture is warm even though you did a black and white. Almost makes you feel like it is a pink sunset. I also think the first photos came out nice I like how the tree being lightened seems to bring out the branches. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteThe snow photo is lovely as a toned sepia-like print, not really sepia, that pinkish tone old 40's black and whites got. Love it!
